Disordered Structure of 2-Methylanthraquinone

Crystals of the title compound, C15H10O2, are monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c. The molecules are disordered around a centre of symmetry. Packing considerations and the calculation of the intermolecular interaction energies show that the disordered structure has occurred by random packing of structures with space groups P2(1) and Pc, the maximal subgroups of P2(1)/c.

Determination of 1,3,6-Trihydroxy-2-methylanthraquinone-3-O-[3-O-acetyl-¦Á-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1¡ú2)-¦Â-D-glucopyranoside] in Rubia.cordifolia by RP-HPLC

To develop a HPLC method for the determination of 1,3,6-trihydroxy-2-methylanthra-quinone-3-O-[3-O-acetyl-¦Á-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1¡ú2)-¦Â-D-glucopyranoside] in Rubia.cordifolia for the first time.HPLC was carried out on a Purospher star RP C18 column(250 mm ¡Á4.6 mm,5 ¦Ìm) at 25 ¡æ using MeOH-H2O-tetrahydropyrane (65:34.7:0.3) as mobile phase,at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min.The detection wavelength was 276 nm.The linearity was found in the range of 0.020-0.160 ¦Ìg,r=0.9998,the average recovery was 101.5%,RSD was 2.0%.This method is reliable,accurate and suitable for the determination of 1,3,6-trihydroxy-2-methylanthraquinone-3-O-[3-O-acetyl-¦Á-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1¡ú2)-¦Â-D-glucopyranoside].
